First Draft Co. is a new line of premium sketchbooks featuring high quality paper and textured covers reminiscent of hardcover books. I partnered with them to develop the look of this new brand. 

The idea behind the identity is that great ideas initially come from a spark of inspiration written in notes or a sketch. That first draft, where an idea first takes form, is an essential part of the creative process and should be celebrated for the role it plays.  

The logo, with the unfinished ‘1’ icon, references ideas started but not yet complete. The circle shape takes inspiration from patent stamps, notary stamps, and other official seals.
